Beau Nelson

My name is Beau C. Nelson and I’m a Contemporary Artist and Photographer from Chicago, IL. For as long as I can remember I have been spiritually moved by art. When considering an abstract piece, I will often gaze into a sidewalk or a concrete wall. In doing so, an elemental door seems to open and speak to me as I stare upon with depth. My goal is for the viewer of my work to see it and use it as an ever-changing crystal ball --. bringing forward new ideas and visions and subtle messages over time as it hangs elegantly on their walls.

Although no technical degree in art, I’ve taken many art courses all through college and have studied extensively on my own through books, on-line classes and a personal mentor. To me, art is a way of life. There is nothing that makes me happier than to spend my time creating through shapes, lines and color. And when combined with a good camera, I feel fully equipped to capture and express these visions and ideas. All in all, becoming an artist has been a process — it’s been a long road uphill with many twists and turns but it’s also been a road surrounded by love. I welcome you to join me on my journey! I work primarily with abstract, mixed-media using photography, acrylic, oil, charcoal, tile paste and encaustic wax in much of my work.
