Romero Britto
Romero Britto (born October 6, 1963, in Recife, Brazil) is a Brazilian-born, Miami-based artist known for a vibrant Neo-Pop style that blends Pop Art, Cubism, and graffiti into bold, colorful compositions radiating hope and happiness. Largely self-taught, he grew up in poverty and painted on whatever scraps he could find before a 1983 trip to Paris introduced him to Matisse and Picasso and helped shape his signature look. In 1988, he was selected alongside Andy Warhol and Keith Haring for Absolut Vodka's "Absolut Art" campaign, launching an international career that has since included collaborations with Disney, BMW, Pepsi, and the United Nations, exhibitions in over 100 countries, and major public installations from Berlin's O2 Dome to London's Hyde Park. The New York Times has described his art as work that "exudes warmth, optimism and love" — a reflection of his belief that art should be accessible to everyone.
