Tatiana Smelik

Tatiana Smelik (TS) is a contemporary figurative artist whose work merges Renaissance aesthetics, Art Deco refinement, and modern emotional intensity. She received her formal education at an Institute of Arts in Russia and continued her professional training in Florence and Bologna, Italy, where she studied classical painting techniques, anatomy, and the tradition of academic light and composition. Her paintings explore themes of femininity, transformation, memory, and inner strength. Recurring symbolic elements — Fabergé eggs, flowers, mirrors — serve as metaphors for time, value, and the fragile beauty of human experience.

Smelik’s artistic language is defined by expressive brushwork, dramatic contrasts of light and shadow, and a carefully orchestrated color palette. Her work creates a dialogue between classical structure and contemporary sensibility.

Her works have been exhibited in Russia, the United States, and Spain, and are held in private collections in Europe and America. Tatiana Smelik lives and works in the Chicago area.
