Hello
Mr. Brainwash
Mr. Brainwash is the moniker of Thierry Guetta (b. 1966, Garges-lès-Gonesse, France), a Los Angeles–based artist who emerged as one of the most talked-about figures in contemporary street art. Originally a videographer obsessed with documenting the underground street art movement, Guetta spent years filming artists like Shepard Fairey and the elusive Banksy — a journey that culminated in his own transformation from observer to artist, famously chronicled in the Oscar-nominated 2010 documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop.
Guetta's work fuses Pop Art irreverence with street art energy, layering iconic imagery — Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Einstein, Kate Moss — with spray paint, stencils, and broken vinyl records into vibrant, large-scale compositions. His signature themes of love, positivity, and pop-culture celebration ("Life is Beautiful" is his enduring mantra) have made him a favorite among celebrity collectors, with works commissioned by Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and major brands worldwide.
Since his explosive 2008 debut show "Life is Beautiful" in Hollywood, Mr. Brainwash has exhibited internationally, opened his own museum in Beverly Hills, and cemented his place at the intersection of street art, Pop Art, and celebrity culture — equal parts provocateur and optimist.
